IGEM Explores: Innovation - AI
IGEM Explores is designed to connect industry professionals and look into key areas of our dynamic and ever-evolving energy sector. This interactive webinar series takes place every second Tuesday of the month and provides a platform for collaboration, learning and networking.
During this session Shelley Copsey looked at empowering data-led, AI-driven organisations to scale innovation and transform field operations.
Shelley Copsey is the CEO and Co-Founder of FYLD, an AI-driven platform revolutionising fieldwork in the infrastructure sector. Recently, FYLD was ranked 3rd on startups.co.uk’s list of leading AI companies in the UK and named the 14th hottest startup overall. This recognition highlights its rapid global growth in empowering infrastructure companies with real-time situational awareness through data captured by field crews. By deploying advanced AI solutions, FYLD helps de-risk the delivery of major operational programmes while significantly enhancing workforce safety.
Before co-founding FYLD, Shelley spent several years at a global consultancy, advising the infrastructure sector on strategic initiatives. She later led the commercialisation of data technologies for the Australian Government through its research agency, Data61, where she founded multiple companies and collaborated with major industrial players on digital transformation programmes.
FYLD is Shelley’s second high-growth technology venture. Previously, she led GeoSLAM, a global leader in mobile mapping solutions, successfully driving its commercial expansion before its acquisition by Faro. Shelley’s career reflects a unique combination of industry expertise and a passion for scaling innovative technologies that deliver transformative impact.
