Kraft Heinz's Wigan manufacturing site has made an agreement with a UK energy infrastructure development company to explore the potential establishment of a green hydrogen plant.
The proposed 20MW Kitt Green hydrogen plant, in partnership with Carlton Power, will significantly contribute to meeting over 50% of the Wigan plant's annual natural gas demand and result in a reduction of its carbon emissions by 16000T/yr.
This collaboration marks Carlton Power's fifth green hydrogen project in the UK.
