We warmly invite nominations to join IGEM’s Council as an Ordinary Member. If you feel you have the time, skills and specialist expertise to offer the gas industry, then becoming a member of Council is the perfect opportunity for you to contribute to the direction and future strategy of the Institution and help us to achieve our aims and objectives.

The Council meets four times a year and is made up of a lively bunch of individuals who are always on the lookout for new ideas and new faces. We are particularly keen to broaden the diversity of Council and welcome applications from LGBT+, disabled and black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) candidates who are underrepresented throughout the institution.

We would be delighted to have a more diverse Council with more women and minorities represented that will help to enrich the Institution and deliver a broad range of candidates who would then be eligible to join the Presidential chain in the future. Nominations are invited for Ordinary Members of Council to serve from the Institution’s AGM held in May each year for a period of three years.

In accordance with the institution’s by-laws, nominations of candidates for election to the Council must be received by the Chief Executive Officer no later than the first day of January and must include statements in writing by the candidates confirming that they are willing and able to serve.

The nomination form is available here along with full details of the roles and responsibilities of trustees. Nomination forms must be signed by one proposer and two seconders, all of whom must be corporate members of IGEM (Member Manager, Engineering Technician Member, Incorporated Member, Chartered Member).

Completed nomination forms should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to: Lesley Ecob, PA to CEO, IGEM, IGEM House, High Street, Kegworth, Derbyshire DE74 2DA.
