This Gas Industry Standard specifies requirements for the site and workshop fusion welding and inspection of austenitic stainless steel pipework designed to work at pressures up to 110 bar and temperatures up to 150°C.

This Part 9 of GIS/PL2 specifies the requirements for flexible twin-walled corrugated pipe. For convenience, they will to be referred to as flexible pipes in this standard. This Gas Industry Standard specifies requirements for metal-bodied valves, for gas distribution purposes. The valves shall be suitable for use at temperatures within the range –20 °C to 60 °C. The valves are for use as line valves up to 16 bar MOP (maximum operating pressure) or construction valves up to 7 bar MOP and the MOP of the valve shall be specified in the purchase order.

This Gas Industry Standard (GIS) specifies requirements relating to fittings for pipe connections to in-pipe close fit lined pipes operating at a maximum working pressure of up to 2 bar. It applies to connections to grey cast iron, ductile iron and steel distribution pipes with either lead yarn or mechanical type joints.

This Gas Industry Standard specifies the requirements for materials, design, performance and testing of mechanical fittings in the nominal size range 16 mm to 800 mm inclusive intended for use with polyethylene (PE) pipe conforming to GIS/PL2-2 or GIS/PL2-8 of the same nominal size and at operating temperatures from –20°C to +40°C.

This standard supplements and amends the requirements for pipeline valves produced in accordance with EN13942:2009. The requirements of EN13942:2009 shall apply except where modified by this standard.

This Gas Industry Standard specifies the design of marker posts for pipelines operating above 2 barg. Where appropriate these designs may also be used on pipelines operating below 2 barg.
