Women in Gas

Celebrate International Women in Engineering Day at our event that aims to address imposter syndrome, fostering allyship and break barriers

Join the IGEM Welsh and South West Sections for an essential and inclusive event celebrating Women in Engineering Day – open to everyone!

We invite all members of the gas and engineering community – women, men and individuals of all gender identities – to come together for a vital discussion focused on imposter syndrome from Thorne Coaching - The Engineering Leaders' Coach, the power of allyship from Men for Inclusion and concrete strategies for overcoming gender barriers within our sector.

This year, we believe that creating a truly equitable and thriving engineering landscape requires the active participation and understanding of everyone. This event offers a unique opportunity for all attendees to:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of women in engineering, including the challenges of imposter syndrome.
  • Learn practical ways to be effective allies and contribute to a more supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Engage in open and honest conversations about the systemic barriers that persist and how we can collectively dismantle them.
  • Hear diverse perspectives and build a stronger, more unified engineering community in Wales.
  • Network with individuals who are passionate about creating positive change and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone.

Whether you are a woman engineer navigating your career, a male colleague seeking to be a better ally, a student eager to learn, or a leader committed to fostering an inclusive workplace, your presence and participation are invaluable.

Event Highlights:

  • Interactive sessions exploring the impact of imposter syndrome and practical strategies for building confidence for everyone.
  • Engaging panel discussions on the crucial role of allyship and how individuals can actively support their colleagues.
  • Opportunities for open dialogue and collaborative problem-solving regarding gender barriers in the sector.
  • Valuable networking with a diverse group of individuals committed to positive change.

Let's build a more inclusive and equitable future for engineering – together.
