The Company Members Section are hosting an event at IGEM house focused on reviewing the suitability of the ACS and exploring potential areas for change. This event will provide a platform for industry professionals to engage in discussions about the current state of the ACS with EU Skills and provide valuable feedback on what the ACS of tomorrow might look like.
The Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) serves as the industry recognised pathway for operatives to obtain a certificate of competence, essential for membership in the Gas Safe Register. Covering a comprehensive range of gas work including domestic NG, LPG, commercial heating, catering, laundry, meter installation and emergency service provision. ACS ensures that professionals meet the required standards for safety and competence.
During the event, attendees can expect to hear about the existing ACS competencies and explore opportunities to streamline and combine assessments for greater efficiency. This is a unique chance for you to voice your opinions on the current ACS and offer feedback on proposed changes that could impact the future of gas safety regulations.
There will be workshop group discussions looking at
- Which ACS competencies can be combined?
- What are the benefits?
- What are the risks?
- What questions are likely to be asked?
Join us to collaborate with fellow industry experts, share insights and help shape the discourse around the ACS process. Your participation is invaluable to ensuring that the standards set forth in the gas industry continue to evolve and meet the needs of professionals.
EU Skills are particularly interested in meeting employers with employees on the Gas Safe Register and are responsible persons.
