The highly anticipated London Showcase and Lions' Lair event is back, brought to you by IGEM's London, Southern & Eastern Section and The Pipeline Industries Guild. This joint event offers a remarkable opportunity to expand your professional network and stay updated on the latest innovations in the industry.

Lions' Lair: Unleash Your Innovations!

Five courageous contenders will present their cutting-edge innovations to a panel of industry experts. Each participant will have four minutes to present their idea, followed by a four-minute Q&A session with the 'Lions.' The winner will be presented with the Chris Bielby Award.

Following the Lions' Lair, we will welcome our keynote speaker Matthew Steele. Matt Steele joined National Gas as Chief Operating Officer of National Gas in April 2024. Previously, Matt held Managing Director positions at Balfour Beatty, in divisions including Gas and Water, Rail and Utilities and most recently Energy Transition and Security, responsible for delivering large and complex infrastructure programmes across the UK.   Prior to that, Matt worked for Network Rail where he was Commercial and Development Director for the infrastructure business and Major Programme Director for Crossrail.

A Fellow of the IMechE and a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, Matt has a thorough knowledge of the UK infrastructure market, with over 24 years’ experience providing strategic leadership to large multi-discipline and cross-industry teams.

This year, we will be supporting The National Autistic Society. Founded in 1962, they are the UK’s leading charity for autistic people and their families. They are here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. This charity's mission is to transform lives by providing support, information and practical advice for more than 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK, as well as their three million family members and carers. They aim to change attitudes by improving public understanding of autism and helping businesses, local authorities and government to provide more autism-friendly spaces, deliver better services and improve laws.
