Cadent Gas and Northern Gas Networks are in the standing to develop and deliver the UKs first Hydrogen Village. They will demonstrate the practicalities, logistics and acceptability of using hydrogen in homes and business for heat and cooking.
As part of Cadent’s customer journey, they have built a Hydrogen Experience Centre on the periphery of their proposed Hydrogen Village, Whitby in Ellesmere Port. The building is supplied by a small bottled hydrogen supply skid unit and feeds a hydrogen meter and a number of hydrogen appliances to allow customers and stakeholders the opportunity to see and experience the future.
The tour of the site will include the opportunity to try out cooking on a hydrogen hob. Following this there will be presentations on the North West HyNet Pipeline, a different project all together but one that is very important to the area, Cadent and the industries, as we move to decarbonising the UK.
