Engineering Council launch 'Pathways to professional registration' toolkit

This resource is designed for Engineering Technicians who have taken on increasing levels of responsibility at work. They may be contributing to engineering design, development, manufacture, safety, construction and operation and the IEng title could be a better reflection of their current skills and experience.

Designed to be easy to use, registrants simply select their institution, their highest (academic or vocational) qualification, and are then guided through the potential pathways to IEng registration. There is also a short animated video online, demonstrating how the toolkit works. The toolkit includes case studies of registrants who've progressed from EngTech to IEng and give their first-hand account of how the process was for them.

'Pathways to professional registration' was developed collaboratively by an Engineering the Future (EtF) working group, made up of representatives from ten professional engineering institutions and the Engineering Council, and is designed to support both institutions and their membership through supporting technicians' career progression.
