How much is the scholarship worth?

If successful, students will receive up to £9,000 (£3,000 per year up to three years) for full time study (this will be pro-rata for part time study).

Renewal of the funding after the first year is conditional on satisfactory progress being made.

Am I eligible?

  • Applicants must intend to commence their degree in the next academic session
  • Applicants must be a member of IGEM at the time of applying for a scholarship or join as a member once their course has commenced
  • IGEM employees are not eligible to apply

What will I need to do?

You will need to fill in and send us your application form along with the relevant references and supporting information required.

Applications will be reviewed by our Scholarship Panel who will then notify applicants if they have been successful or not, in August each year.

Interviews for shortlisted applicants will be scheduled for August, where applicants will be required to discuss their application further with the Scholarship Panel.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible after the interview and successful applicants will be sent an offer for their funds soon after.
